Quite early on, the name catechesis was given to the totality of the Church’s efforts to make disciples, to help men believe that Jesus is the Son of God so that believing they might have life in his name, and to educate and instruct them in this life, thus building up the body of Christ.

Catechesis is an education in the faith of children, young people and adults which includes especially the teaching of Christian doctrine imparted, generally speaking, in an organic and systematic way, with a view to initiating the hearers into the fullness of Christian life.

Corio Lara Catholic Parish is offering weekly catechesis for primary school children in Grades 2 – 6. This catechesis series is separate from our preparation courses for the sacraments and is intended to supplement the formation children receive at home or school. These classes will aim to increase the existing faith and knowledge of the children through structured formation, fun activities and meaningful friendships.

Classes run from 4pm – 5pm on Fridays during school term in the Ron Lowe Room. Snacks will be provided.

As we have limited places and resources available, registration is essential. To register, complete the enrolment form below (and medication authority form if applicable) and email it to the Parish Office. The Parish Office will contact you to confirm your registration and to arrange payment of a $50 fee to cover the resources for the course.
