The process where an adult becomes Catholic is called the of Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). It is a journey over a number of months that calls for a deepening of one’s discipleship and commitment to living out the faith. This culminates in receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and (First) Eucharist at the Easter Vigil Mass (the evening before Easter Sunday). A period of post baptism reflection then continues throughout the Easter Season.

At Corio Lara Parish, we offer the RCIA every two years. Anyone interested in becoming Catholic with the Parish must first attend the Alpha experience which we hold three times each year. This will give them a good grounding and preparation for the RCIA program.
